Have you ever wanted to start your own club? Do you no idea what clubs are available at Ripley High? Well look no further this could have all the answers you’re searching for. Clubs have come back in the schedule so kids can have a chance to socialize for a class period instead of meeting up after school. Thanks to the Student Council. Many of us may not have reliable transportation excluding bus riders.
“Our goal for clubs this year is that we hope people will participate and that we may have a chance to give back to the community in positive ways,” said Bev Shatto, assistant principal.
Clubs will meet every other week. Clubs will rotate through different periods so teachers do not have to give up the same class each time. Students will stay in the classroom where their club is being held until the class period ends.
If you don’t want to join any clubs that are existing you have the option of creating your own club; all you need is a description on what your club is about and a staff member to sponsor you. The best part is you don’t require a certain number of peers to start up your club.
“I’m very glad the club schedule is back because it was very difficult to schedule club meetings outside of school,” said Kalista Skeens.
Students should take advantage of the club schedule because it gets you out of class for a period every other week. It also gives us a chance to be more involved with school and to be more social with people that have the same interests as you. In case you don’t know the clubs that are available at Ripley High there is a chart down below with the meeting schedule for the first semester as well.
“The clubs were very eventful, also it was nice to have a chance to socialize with people that have the same interests as I do.”- Sam Bryant
