By: Ashtun Welling Suicide Squad is rated patchy by most reviews online, but personally I enjoyed the film. Although some viewers will not enjoy this film and that’s understandable everybody is different with different opinions . Comic book movies are no longer limited to a certain style, and not every comic book is going to be a palatable to moviegoers. It’s a lively comic book movie although it is undermined by plot holes and uneven execution of action, character, and comedy. Suicide Squad is a 2016 American anti-hero film. It’s written and directed by David Ayer and distributed by Warners Bros. Pictures. In the film, a secret government agency led by Amanda Waller recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions and save the world from a powerful threat, in exchange for leaner sentences. To make sure these villains don’t try anything funny Amanda Wallace implanted nanobombs in their necks. It features an ensemble cast that includes Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, and Cara Delevingne. Acting isn’t an easy job you have to force yourself become a new character. Being able to put on a “mask” to do a character's emotions, facial expressions, and tone of voice is hard. Not everybody is going to think the same if the actors did a good job or if they did a rotten job. Margot Robbie who played as Harley Quinn convinced me she was above the normal crazy level with a love connection to Joker. Cara Delevingne who played the enchantress did an outstanding job. She made it believable she was a deceiving powerful sorceress, with her elaborate costume and whipping her body around in awkward poses made it believable. . The Killer Croc played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje could have been better but it wasn’t awful. Most important Jared Leto (the joker) I have mixed feelings about his acting. He wasn’t in many shots of the film, and I don’t think his face fitted the craziness that lives in the Joker’s soul and mind. I think he looked too happy. Overall you should judge the movie yourself. Many movies get rotten tomatoes which some turn out to be okay. You are the best judge for your personal interests. A review online could be complete bias. For example there is a review about Jared Leto was a bad Joker just because of the tattoos the artists put on him. Don’t base somebody’s acting on the art on their body. Watch the movie and judge it yourself. Personally I’m one of those people that rather rent movies from redbox instead of going out to a movie theater. I enjoy being in the comfort of my own home with buttery popcorn.
