The Project Graduation Committee has put together a prom dress sale to help raise funds for the celebration after graduation. The sale will take place Sunday, February 4 at the Ripley High cafeteria in the Annex Building. Project Graduation Committee will be at the location from 1 to 4 p.m. to allow customers to try on and buy the items for sale.
To participate, you can bring your items for sale to the school from 12 to 1 p.m., right before the start of the sale. Owners of the items get to pick their price, and a portion of each transaction is donated to Project Graduation.
“Some of the proceeds go to graduation, and as a senior, this is important,” said senior and donator Kiersten Templin.
All purchases must be made in cash, checks will not be accepted. The owner of the dress will receive 90% of the total sale cost, while 10% goes to Project Grad. Leftover items must be picked up by 4:30 p.m. or they will also be donated. People donating dresses for the sale do not have to be present for the entirety of the sale.
Prom dresses and formal dresses will be accepted, as well as accessories and shoes. Donations for the ‘Project Glam’ will also be onsite for anything else. Project Glam is a program sponsored by YLA that provides dresses to those in need, whether for a prom, homecoming, or a formal. Any leftover dresses not picked up from the sale will be donated to this cause.
