Six strangers are given a mysterious black box with tickets to an escape room for a chance to win $10,000. They are locked in several rooms with life-threatening situations. As they learn the deadly secret behind the escape room, they have to fight for a way out.
Each scene was well thought out and had lots of detail. All of the rooms reveal a back story to one of the characters. There’s something in almost every room that will remind at least one person of something that has happened in their past. For example, one of the players panics over increasing heat in one of the rooms as she has suffered from burns in her past. The heat brings back memories on how she got her scars.
The special effects behind the movie looked realistic and you can tell it was a high budget movie. The dangers in the room, such as the opening scene where one of the players is impaled seemed very real.
The movie is very suspenseful. The changes of the rooms keeps the suspense going. You are never sure what is going to happen next. It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Most of the actors all have some type of experience in other big thriller or horror movies. For example, Logan Miller plays Benjamin in “The Walking Dead” and Adam Robitel is in “Insidious: The Last Key.”
Overall, it was a really good movie. “Escape Room” is definitely a movie worth watching in theaters. I give it a 5 star rating.
